For good results, use the wood specified in the operating instructions, keep it properly seasoned and follow the recommended fuel load and air settings. Wet wood and unsuitable operation can reduce performance and make the glass and flue dirtier.

A wood-fired range rewards a more involved style of cooking. Heat changes with the fire and fuel load, so you manage cooking by tending the fire and checking the food. It is a different experience from an electrically regulated oven.
